Invented in the 1960s (just in time for the revolution of mind -altering. .um..literature), the Lava Light has been a delight and a cultural icon ever since. There is just something hypnotizing about watch blobs of stuff move about interacting with other blobs of stuff. It’s sort of like a protoplasmic ant farm. Well, you know us - we’re always looking for new ways to make offices hip and trippy. Luckily, we found the Lava Lamp Night Light!
The Lava Lamp Night Light looks great plugged into any wall outlet. A flip of the switch and science takes over. The wax is slightly denser than the oil it lives in, at room temperature that is. Once the light is on and the wax starts to heat up, it becomes slightly less dense than the oil and it rises (and then drops as it cools). There’s a lot more science behind it, as to what determines the size of the blob and the path of its upward voyage, but the important part is that it’s groovy. Peace, man.
